Here are the ideas so far for a BESIG 2012 EVO session course. Please add ideas and your contact details if you would like to contribute by leading a session or helping out.

Possible syllabus

Week 1
Introductions and basics. Online BE material for teachers/students (websites, downloads) and setting up a class blog/wiki/grouply/yahoo grps

Week 2
Blended learning. Using the internet in class. Adapting authentic materials, creating class exercises, online presentations, presentation feedback loops

Week 3
1 to 1 teaching and small groups. Teaching via Skype/YIM/Second Life.

Week 4
Building Self access/study BE materials.

Week 5
Wrap up: Presenting work and discussing the future of BE and technology. Possibly ipads, English 360, m-learning.

Every week should have a couple of tasks, some background reading, 1/2 webconferences and be suitable for teachers of teenagers, students and Business people. It should make BE accessable and interesting for teachers and students. It could also offer extras in Business content such as Marketing topics.

The CALL Interest Section of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, Inc. (TESOL) offers language teachers world-wide the opportunity to participate in the Electronic Village Online (EVO), a professional development project and virtual extension of the TESOL 2012 Convention in Philadelphia.
